Human Interface Laws

Eight regularities of the human interface, stated as laws: no one starts from zero; awareness has bandwidth, and bandwidth sets the possible; feelings are gain-control signals, not sovereigns; identity protects its constraints; records write the person; weak external signal permits divergence while shared independent records favor convergence; coherence without contact tends toward self-sealing; and integrated repair requires a safe-enough window. Together they describe the kernel as lived from the inside — a philosophical mechanics of belief, update, and shared reality.

The laws come in three strengths — interface invariants, modulation principles, and conditional regime laws — and the paper is explicit about which is which. Law 1's starting trust is phase faith: the corrigible, commitment-bearing subset of the constraint state, on the grain established in How Minds Resolve; the records of Law 5 answer to the Records standard and the Update Integrity Standard. The paper's own addition is positional love and positional hate as aperture orientations — openness to remainder versus closure around a total account — with the Aperture Check as the reflective heuristic: am I permitting what I meet to exceed my present model of it?

What this paper does not claim. These are interface laws, not kernel laws — regularities of a human subsystem at its own surface. The regime laws are conditional and directional, not exceptionless, and the aperture proposal stands or falls on discriminating positional openness from bandwidth, emotional tone, and threat load.
